How universally recognized is UCLA? Well known enough for there to be UCLA-themed stores around the world – including in China, where more than two dozen UCLA clothing stores are located in malls!

- Amazing Academics In 2015, the Academic Ranking of World Universities ranked UCLA as being the 10th best college in North America. But a year later, U.S. News & World Report ranked UCLA as having the 2nd best college among public universities. UCLA is considered one of the “Public Ivies,” public schools so good they deserve comparison to Ivy League universities.
- Tech-Centric School UCLA is so tech-oriented that each spring it hosts LA Hacks, an annual hackathon that encourages students and faculty to produce and present cool tech products of their own design.It’s such a big deal on campus that major figures from the tech world come to serve as contest judges. Judges have included Evan Spiegel (Snapchat founder), Alexis Ohanian (Reddit co-founder) and Chris DeWolfe (Myspace founder).
