This summer, the DU campus will host DMA’s summer tech-camp program…and we can’t wait!

The University of Denver (abbreviated as “DU”) is located in America’s 21st largest city (based on population), and the largest one in the region. Denver is like a small metropolis set right in the middle of breathtaking Rocky Mountain scenery.

And there’s something about the city that people just love. In 2009, the Pew Research Center tried to decide which U.S. city was most popular, based on the number of people who would like to live there. The winning city was Denver!

BREATHTAKING SCENERY

You can really feel the altitude when you’re at 14,000 feet above sea level. In fact, when visitors travel on nearby Mt. Evans Byway, they’re driving on the highest road in North America!

It’s so high up in the hills that you may even see mountain goats.

While touring Mt. Evans, visitors often like to stop and see the second-highest telescope in the world – the Meyer-Womble Observatory.

COWBOY CLASS

The University of Denver started out as the Colorado Seminary, when it was founded in 1864.

DU’s first buildings were constructed in the 1860s and 1870s. But since Denver was a rough-and-tumble frontier town in those days, the school was relocated to provide a “better” academic environment.

When the school was moved, it was relocated to an area about 7 miles south of downtown Denver. The campus now sits on a 125-acre piece of land that was designated to remain an arboretum, overflowing with natural beauty.

A visit to today’s DU campus shows a college on the move, one that is either building or refurbishing many academic buildings.

TECH WONDERLAND

The University of Denver is a great school and we’re excited about bringing our celebrated tech-camp programs to DU!

If you’re a kid (ages 6-12) or teen (12-17), you should consider spending a portion of your summer here, on the DU campus. DMA’s one- or two-week learning experiences get you up-close and personal with today’s hottest tech subjects.

Been interested in Virtual Reality? We’ve got a class for that. Want to discover Wearable Tech? DMA can show you how.

And if you’re a mom with a child in that age range, consider planning a family vacation to the Denver area, in conjunction with a session at DMA.

Denver has no shortage of tourist attractions (Example: Did you know the first Chipotle is near the DU campus?) and the setting could provide the family vacation of a lifetime.

If this Chipotle’s looks a bit primitive, there’s good reason: It’s the very first one, still located on East Evans Avenue, near the DU campus.
