For the creative young person with a flair for the visual arts, Digital Media Academy offers a number of photography, art and graphic design camps that can teach you how to unlock your inner Picasso.
DMA is all about hands-on learning, and nowhere is this more apparent than in its fantastic graphic design camp. Not only do students become well practiced in using programs like Adobe® Photoshop® and Adobe® Illustrator®, but they also get the chance to explore more traditional forms of artistic training.
The course focuses on the practical, real-world application of graphic design and how it’s used commercially. Topics include how to smartly create logos, as well as other forms of print creative. You’ll work with various kinds of typography and learn about font creation.
The course even addresses how to work well with clients and the ethics surrounding the practice of retouching photos prior to publication.
Of course, some DMA students want to explore a variety of visual arts, and not limit themselves to graphic design. For them, DMA’s Academy for Visual Arts camp is a two-week mega-camp that exposes students to various forms of image work. These comprehensive art camps combine image work through Photoshop with photographic exercises and assorted examples of design work, including other media (such as print work).
